Internet Gaming disorder
Internet Gaming Disorder was recently added to the DSM 5 as a disorder that needs further research. There is a substantial amount of research from Asia that supports it's inclusion in the DSM 5, which is why it was included in section III.
According to the DSM 5 (2013), "Internet gaming disorder is a pattern of excessive and prolonged Internet gaming that results in a cluster of cognitive and behavioral symptoms, including progressive loss of control over gaming, tolerance, and withdrawal symptoms, analogous to teh symptoms of substance use disorders" (p. 796).
8-10 hours per day of internet gaming activity is typical for individuals with this disorder.
